If you’d like to be a stallholder at our Pop Up Market at The Dan O'Connell Hotel in Carlton, here’s what you’ll need to know:

Stall Prices and Sizes

What are the stall prices?

TRADER STALLS:  Stalls are $85.  This fee includes insurance, advertising, a trestle table and chair.

RACK ‘N’ ROLL STALLS: Single rack only stalls are $65.  This price includes the use of one rack provided on arrival by The Fashion Market and the use of half a table (table is shared with neighbour).

What are the stall sizes?

TRADER STALLS: Stalls are approximately 2.5 metres x 2 metres.
*If you’d like to have a bigger stall book two. They will be next to each other and considered to be one large stall.

Stall space has provision for two garment racks and a trestle table per stall (single rail garment racks – no longer than 1.5 metres – no round racks)
OR you may have three garment racks and NO table. 

One stall space = one supplied trestle table + chair. Extra chairs are available on the day.
Do not bring your own tables & chairs.
BYO garment racks – The Fashion Market DO NOT supply or hire garment racks.

RACK ‘N’ ROLL STALLS: Single rack stalls are approximately 2.5 metres x 0.60 metres for the rack space – The rack (Width 1.58m x Depth 0.51m) is provided for you by The Fashion Market on the day.   You will also share a waist height table with your neighbour, which is approximately 1.5 metres x 1.5 metres. No tables or additional racks are permitted.

Can I choose my stall space?

No, stall spaces will be curated to reflect the mix of traders on the day and as such you can not choose your stall location. You will be given your stall number when you check in on the morning of the market.

Booking a Stall

How do I pay for my stall?

Payment for your stall is made at the time of your application via Paypal or Bank Transfer. Applications paid via direct bank transfer are required within 24 hours, using your order ID as the payment reference.

All applications will only be reviewed upon receipt of payment.

Please note this payment does not guarantee you a stall, your order has to be reviewed before approval, a refund will be issued should your application be rejected. Please be sure you want a stall before applying as refunds will not be given. You will receive notification about the success of your application within 72 hours.

Can I cancel my booking?

No. Once you book a stall, no refunds can be given under any circumstances.

You may transfer your stall to another trader who must be approved by the market organiser no later than the Thursday before market day.

Do I need public liability insurance?

The Fashion Market holds public liability insurance on behalf of the market and its traders. This is included in the cost of your stall.

Product for Sale

What can I sell?

Independent and emerging designers: Your own designs which have been ethically produced. You will be expected to be transparent about your production techniques and sources.

Vintage and preloved collectors: Good quality, clean and well presented women’s and men’s garments and accessories. Some items of lower quality brands* may feature in your collection but the majority of your stock must be from high street retailers and respected labels that have a higher resale value. Genuine perfume is permitted to be sold.

*Lower quality brands refer to those high street retailers selling t-shirts for $15 and dresses for $30. There is little value in the resale of these items.

What can I not sell?

Independent and emerging designers: Garments purchased from wholesalers that are not designed by you or your label. Children’s wear. New fur products.

Vintage and preloved collectors: Replica or fake items. Underwear, gym wear or swimwear. Ripped, damaged or dirty garments and accessories. The majority of your stock must not consist solely of garments from lower quality retailers.

If you cannot wear it, you cannot sell it. You cannot sell anything that doesn’t come under the category of women’s or men’s pre-loved / vintage fashion or accessories.

On Market Day

What time is bump in and out?

Bump-in: 10.00am to 10.45am

The market opens for trading from: 11am to 4pm

You are required to stay for the duration of the market.

Bump-out: 4pm to 5pm

How do I bump in and out on market day?

Once your application is approved as a stallholder you will be sent an information pack with all details regarding bump-in and bump-out. A market manager will be on site to answer any questions on the day.

Where can I park?

Details will be provided in a stallholder confirmation email to successful applicants.

Equipment

What kind of equipment can I use?

Stallholders are required to bring their own racks, display cases and mirror as per your own stall requirements. The Fashion Market supplies trestle tables and chairs.

BYO garment racks – The Fashion Market DOES NOT supply or hire garment racks.

Will there be change rooms available?

What equipment should I bring with me on Market Day?

  • Display equipment
  • A trolley to cart your stock
  • Cash Float – we recommend $150 in coins and small notes. We also encourage you to have a charged portable EFTPOS machine.
  • Bags or packaging
  • Full length mirror (if you can) to secure instant stall sales
  • Business Cards / Mailing list sign-up sheets
  • Water / Snacks
